Magellan’s 2024/25 Summer Internship Program aims to promote, engage, and attract talent into funds management. We are now seeking Summer Interns to join our business for the summer of 2024/25. Our Program is designed to provide university students with an insight into life working in funds management, spending time within a specific business unit of Magellan for 10 weeks, with exposure to the broader business and team.

We have a number of different teams across Magellan including:

  • Global Equities Investment Team – actively manages a number of global equity portfolios, including highly conviction and ESG.
  • Infrastructure Equities Investment Team – actively manages a number of global listed infrastructure portfolios
  • Australian Equities Investment Team – actively manages a number of Australian equities portfolios including small companies
  • Distribution and Marketing Team – is responsible for promoting our investment products and engaging with our clients
  • Finance and Operations – provides financial and operational support to our products and the broader Magellan business
  • Risk and Compliance – responsible for managing all aspects of risk and compliance for Magellan

What will you be doing:

You will be assigned a project to work on with the business unit you join.  That could be a research project related to a stock, sector or an investment thematic. Alternatively, you could focus on optimising our data capture and flows, data analytics and insights, or on a specific challenge or regulatory shift that the business is facing.  The projects will be diverse, challenging and allow you to apply the skills and knowledge you have acquired during your studies within a corporate environment.

Qualifications:

Ideally a penultimate year student undertaking a degree within a related discipline such as Commerce, Finance, Economics, Business, Law, Actuarial Studies, Engineering, Computer Science or Maths, though we welcome applications from a wide variety of disciplines for those with an interest in funds management.

Applicants must be an Australian or New Zealand Citizen or Australian Permanent Resident at the time of submitting the application.
